Event Update October
Now that all entries have been received, hopefully you are all getting a little more excited for what is to come!
Steps for entrants are now the most important!
Once you have arrived in Launceston from the Spirit of Tasmania in Devonport (97klms) and have settled into your accommodation.
We need to get you and your vehicle to scrutineering. Scrutineering will be taking place on Friday 30th of November. If you do not have your car scrutineered on the Friday, then there will be no spot allocated for you on the oval for the Show N Shine the next day. Scrutineering will run between 9am and 4pm at Windsor Park at Riverside (5 minutes from Launceston)
1 Windsor Drive Riverside (turn right at the Riverside Pub on West Tamar Highway)
At scrutineering you will receive your event bag which contains all your passes that allows you access to all the events. It also will contain an event itinerary that will tell you exactly when and where you need to be for each event. Scrutineering is also where you will collect any pre-purchased event merchandise. Our scrutineering team will then look over your car and allocate it for a class for the Rare Spares Show N Shine. The rest of your day is then your own to check out what the Greater Launceston Region has to offer or get back to your home away from home and get that last-minute cleaning done!
Please ensure that you have attached your Rare Spares Show N Shine sticker to the driver’s side top of your windscreen. You will not be allowed on the oval for the event until the sticker is attached. Entry to the Rare Spares Show N Shine for both scrutineering and the Saturday Show will be from the oval entrance at Windsor Drive, Riverside.
Early Pre-Scrutineering for TAS Entrants or ones that are just here early, we are running a ͚pre-scrutineering͛ session. This will take place on the Thursday 29th November at the same location. This will take place from `12 through to approx 4 (or when all complete)
Please note you will not be able to pick up any pre-ordered merchandise at Thursdays scrutineering but will receive your sticker for your car for the Rare Spares Show N Shine. It will just be to have you registered and classified. You will be able to pick up your event bag and any pre-ordered merchandise at HQ on Friday only. ALL entrants please note that you MUST attend one of these sessions to be allocated a spot on the oval for your car.
As at previous Nationals, contributing to our Grand Champion trophy this year will be the storyboards of your vehicle. To be eligible for Grand Champion you need to tell us the story of your car. The story board can be as simple or complex as you wish.
Now this can be as simple or complex as you like. Perhaps the vehicle has been in your family since new, or maybe you bought it to drive to Tassie for the nats!
Perhaps you have years of work you have completed on the car or years of work planned. Maybe your car has some history? if your car is special in some way, tell us why. Please remember that it is a requirement to ͞tell your story͟ to be in the running to win Grand Champion.
Saturday will be the Show & Shine and main event for the public. Held at Windsor Park (event HQ), vehicle entry from 7am, NO vehicles will be allowed on the ground from 9:30 to comply with our public liability. If you arrive after this time you will be asked to park elsewhere.
